National Recognition for Diane Berry
Diane Berry Kitchens won the coveted Master Retailer Award for Kitchens, sponsored by NEFF, at a glittering awards ceremony in London on the 11 May 2009. Marcus Brigstocke, comedian and host for the evening, was on hand to present Diane Berry with the accolade, which was awarded to Diane Berry Kitchens for being the best kitchen retailer in the industry.
Commenting on her award, Diane said: “Winning this award means such a lot to us, we have worked so hard over the years to build a caring, professional company with the personal touch. We now have this wonderful much sort after accolade to show potential clients that we really do what we say, to quote a recent letter from a client ’we not only talk the talk but we walk the walk’. It was such a proud moment to hear our name announced and to walk up on the stage in front of so many people to take the trophy. We are always striving to be better, and promise to make the judges proud that they chose us to carry the Master retailer title for 2009”
She continues: “I must say a huge thank you to Alan Jackson of ALNO kitchen’s who knocked on my door seven years ago and told me he had followed my career and wanted me to open Manchester’s first dedicated ALNO store. He has shown absolute trust in my abilities and helped my company go from strength to strength. Then a huge thank you to all my team who work so hard and constantly make me proud, they are a pleasure to work with especially as they all treat our clients with such care and respect.”
The judges’ added “From start to finish, Diane Berry Kitchens ticked the boxes within all areas of my judging criteria. I consistently grilled finalists about their vision, their strategies, marketing, environmental policy, customer service, and the contribution of the staff and time and again Diane Berry and her team shone. This is a relatively young business, but one that has swiftly carved out a niche for delivering an exemplary level of quality in every aspect of its operation. As a role model for a Master Retailer, it would be difficult to find a better example.”
The prestigious kbbreview Industry Awards, now in their 15th year, is organised by leading industry magazine kbbreview to recognise individual achievements from across the UK’s bathroom and kitchen industry. In the Business categories, individual visits to showrooms made sure judges could see each retailer individually and the Design categories were decided after each finalist presented their design to a panel of judges at RIBA’s London headquarters. Chaired by Andrew Davies, editor of kbbreview, the judging panel included Rene Dekker of SHH Architects, Renee Mascari Chief Executive of KBB National Training Group, Laurence Pigeon of Alternative Plans, Andrew Randall, head of design at Tsunami and Paul Rowland MD of CP Hart.
Mark Pearson, event manager, was delighted with the extraordinary level of competition this year and the overall quality delivered by the industry: “As ever, these awards have really provided the highlight of the year for all of us, even against a difficult background. This event consistently helps to demonstrate the exceptional quality that exists within our industry which in turn helps boost business as a whole.”
